Answers to the most common passenger questions: where you can fly, how to get to the airport, when to arrive, baggage, travelling with children or pets and your rights when flights are delayed.
In October 2026 there are direct scheduled flights from Košice to: London (Luton and Stansted), Vienna, Prague, Warsaw, Zurich, Dublin, Liverpool, Málaga, Bratislava and, until 24 October, Rome. In summer, holiday and charter flights are added (e.g. Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Bulgaria).
Routes change with the season – see the flight schedule for the current list of routes, frequencies and operating days.
Košice Airport is about 6 km south of the city centre, in the Košice-Barca district. City bus no. 23 runs from the centre and the railway/bus station (approx. 20 minutes); taxis, Bolt and the P1–P3 car parks next to the terminal are also available. See Parking for prices.
We recommend arriving at the airport about 2 hours before departure.
Terminal operations follow the flight schedule, so before a very early morning or night flight please check the terminal opening hours on the official airport website or with your airline. Sleeping in the terminal is not a standard airport service.
We recommend arriving about 2 hours before departure, and a little earlier for flights outside the Schengen area (e.g. the United Kingdom, Turkey, Egypt).
It is recommended to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure. At this time, you should check in your baggage, go through personal control and find the departure gate, which closes a few minutes before departure.
Airlines that fly from Košice Airport, such as Ryanair and Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), support electronic tickets. Ryanair, a well-known Irish low-cost airline, has an electronic boarding pass available via their mobile app or in printed form, as does WizzAir.
Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishes basic rights for passengers in air transport. This regulation concerns compensation and assistance to passengers in situations such as denied boarding, flight cancellation or significant delay. Passengers can exercise these rights regardless of the individual contractual conditions of the airlines and have the right to request these benefits directly from the air carriers.
In case of lost or damaged luggage, you should immediately inform the relevant airline. Fill out the Damage or Lost Baggage Form at the airport and get a confirmation. Keep all travel documents as they will be needed when claiming compensation. Follow the process with the airline and submit additional information or documents if necessary. If your problem is not resolved, you can contact the relevant regulatory authorities or legal institutions.
Passengers with insulin pens and injections should notify airport security personnel prior to security screening. It is advisable to have a medical certificate with you about the necessity of using these medical devices. It is recommended that carry-on baggage contains only the necessary amount of medication for the duration of the flight, while additional supplies should be in checked baggage.
Passengers with metal implants should inform airport security personnel of their implants before going through security screening with a detection frame. This is important for proper security process management.
Medical aids such as crutches are allowed on the plane.
No, you just need to come to the airport, park in the P3 parking lot and pay the fee when you leave.
If the P3 parking lot is full, you can use the P2 parking lot, with the same fee as for the P3 parking lot starting from the second day.
