Historic sights

• Pantheon – the famous ancient temple with its great dome, later converted into a Christian church.

The Vatican

• Vatican Museums – vast collections of art and history, including the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s frescoes.
• St Peter’s Basilica – one of the largest churches in the world, with magnificent architecture, sculptures and religious art.

Food and city life

• Rome is the place for traditional Italian dishes such as pasta carbonara, cacio e pepe and thin-crust Roman pizza, along with local wine and excellent coffee.
• The city has a lively nightlife; traditional neighbourhoods such as Trastevere are known for their authentic atmosphere.
• The Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna and the Trevi Fountain are favourite spots for an evening stroll.

Flights from Košice

Since 31 March 2026 Košice has been linked with Rome by a direct scheduled Wizz Air route. Flights operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, to Rome Fiumicino Airport. From the airport the Leonardo Express train takes you conveniently to Termini station.
