Bolt at Košice Airport: Book a Ride Even Without a Phone

Košice Airport has a new exclusive partner for individual passenger transport. The technology platform Bolt has launched several new services directly at the airport: the arrivals hall now features the first self-service booking kiosk of its kind in Slovakia, 16 dedicated pick-up spots have been created in front of the terminal, and three special vehicle categories are available for airport transfers. From now on, you can arrange a ride from the airport even without a mobile app, a data connection or a charged phone.

The first self-service kiosk of its kind in Slovakia

The biggest novelty is the self-service kiosk located at the exit of the arrivals hall. As Košice Airport spokesperson Juraj Toth explained, passengers simply enter their destination on the kiosk, choose a vehicle type and pay for the ride by card. The whole process works even for those who do not have the Bolt app installed, have no active mobile data, or simply landed with a dead phone battery after a long flight.

It is the first self-service kiosk of this type in Slovakia. The solution is designed primarily for foreign visitors who do not want to deal with roaming and app installations after landing, but it will serve anyone who wants to book a ride quickly and without a phone. The airport expects the new service to make the arrival process faster and easier to navigate.

How booking via the kiosk works

The process is designed so that even first-time users can handle it easily. After collecting your luggage, head to the exit of the arrivals hall, where you will find the kiosk. On the screen, enter your destination – whether it is an address in Košice, a hotel in the city centre or a town further away in the region. Then select a vehicle category based on the number of passengers and the amount of luggage, and pay for the booking by card directly at the kiosk.

Then simply walk out in front of the terminal to the dedicated pick-up spots, where your assigned vehicle will be waiting. No phone calls, no installations, no hunting for working Wi-Fi – the whole process takes just a few minutes in one place.

The second visible change is sixteen dedicated and clearly marked pick-up spots for pre-booked transport, created in front of the terminal next to the P1 car park. Passengers and drivers now know exactly where to meet – no more searching for your car in the traffic outside the terminal, and boarding is both safer and more orderly.

The dedicated spots will also be appreciated by passengers who book their ride the classic way via the mobile app – their driver stops at the same clearly marked place. Three vehicle categories: Comfort, Premium and XL

Airport transfers with Bolt partner drivers are available in three special categories: Airport Comfort, Airport Premium and Airport XL. In addition to standard rides, passengers can choose more comfortable vehicles or larger cars for groups and families travelling with more luggage.

A practical tip: if you are returning from a holiday as a family of four with suitcases, the Airport XL category saves you the worry of whether all your luggage will fit in the boot of a regular car. For a business trip with hand luggage only, a standard ride is more than enough – or choose Airport Comfort if you fancy a slightly more comfortable car after your flight.

Other ways to get from the airport to the city

The kiosk and the dedicated pick-up spots complement the existing transport options rather than replacing them. The airport remains connected to the centre of Košice by a regular public transport bus line, and classic taxi services and car rentals are also available. The new service arrives in a record year

The partnership with Bolt starts at a time when Košice Airport is enjoying a remarkably successful period. Passenger numbers are growing, new direct routes to Rome and Málaga were added this year, and the domestic connection to Bratislava has been operating again since November 2025. Expanding services at the terminal is a logical step to handle the growing flow of passengers and to improve visitors’ first impression of eastern Slovakia right after landing.
